Too Tired To Write

I almost always feel too tired to write. When I'm not tired, most times, I am on my way somewhere (like work) or just kind of don't feel like writing. When I am out and about on my days off, things come to mind that I could write about, but I am not by the computer so by the time I get home, I have either forgotten what I thought of writing about, or I don't feel like it anymore. I do like to write, but...it's just like watching a show like Jeopardy. I like facts, and find them facinating (and might even try answering the questions myself), but it is almost like pulling teeth to make me actually watch it. I don't know why. "Steeerange".

A Teeny Bit O' Frustration Here in Blogger :o)

I haven't been on blogspot for very long, but I wish there was a search bar where you could type in a category or thing to get to what you like faster on other people's blogs, not just my own, when searching for a new one to read or follow. I don't mind clicking on the "next blog" tab most times but it gets frustrating when all of a sudden you are being shown 10 blogs in a row on the darkness of life, fishing (although I do like to fish-once in a blue moon), politics, or blogs in another language (no offence meant here at all, to anyone..it's just a little frustrating when you see several in a row that you wish you could understand but can't and then have to start all over to get to ones you can read). Unfortunately I know only one language myself and only a few words and phrases in french...thank you mandatory grade 8 french! I will always be able to at least eat (knowing "haricot vert" means green beans and that "beouf" means beef...thank you Canadian bilingual labels), find a washroom or ask you where you work and what time is it, and tell you where you can put your pencil (dans le bureau or sur le table) or where you can put that apple core (dans la corbaille...not sure of the spelling here as it has been a million years since I have written the french word for garbage can). Anyhoo, I'm wondering if perhaps I have missed something and that there is an easier way to find more new blogs of interest on here, aside from Blogs of Note . Just putting it out there. :o)

It's Still Pretty Hot

Well, looks like Vancouver has kind a sort a seen the worst of it for now. It has been so unbearably hot for the last couple of weeks, especially the last few days. I have not had an ounce of relief starting from last Tuesday...no exaggeration! It is super hot where I work (no air conditioning), and my apt faces south and west with the larger windows being on the south side so when I get home....ugh. Thank goodness I have a table fan (Thank you Sears! A mid nineteen nineties purchase and still going strong!), otherwise I wouldn't get any sleep. I left the apartment during the afternoon on Saturday to try and get some relief but...NOTHING! Absolutely nothing was moving outside. Blech! Sunday was a fraction better with a slight cooler breeze coming up from the ocean. The weather channel has each day becoming cooler over the next week and some rain will be starting Thursday night. The rain is supposed to last for 3 & 1/2 days. I'm excited! I'll actually be able to tear into my 12 pack of Mr. Noodles! Cookin here I come! :o)

Copper Cup

Last week I went on my first day trip to Gibsons, British Columbia, home of the 1980's hit Canadian tv show "The Beachcombers". There are a host of galleries, gift shops, little eateries, a museum, and a cozy Sunday outdoor market. Then, of course, there is the lovely scenery of nearby islands and refreshing ocean air. It was nice to get away for the day and one great little shop I happened upon is called "Gaia's Fair Trade Gifts". It is a small store but the variety of fair trade gifts is interesting and there is quite a bit to choose from. You will find musical instruments, jewelry, clothing & accessories, soaps, housewares, ornaments, and so on. I am attaching a picture of a handmade copper cup I fell in love with. It is hand pound by a women's co-op called the Association for Craft Producers in Katmandu, Nepal. The ACP provides low income or abandoned women with employment and training in the traditional skills. The ACP provides access to a fair wage, health care, education, and marketing skills and strives to raise worker's self esteem and ability to compete effectively in the marketplace.

My First

My first.
Hmmm.......there have been many of those. I would like though to mention that I had my first energy drink yesterday. Rockstar "Juiced" in particular. It's 50% juice, which is good, and loaded with the requisite sugar, caffeine, and also Guarana (?), Ginseng, B-Vitamins, etc. It tastes pretty good, especially when cold...could almost pass as a good & fizzy fruit punch... (although I was skeptical at first as my first experience with mango juice and passion fruit juice was not too fantastic) but I didn't really feel it gave me energy, save for the first five minutes after having some. Aside from making my eyes feel weird, I think it actually makes me feel kind of tired, which may be a result of the sugar. I used to be able to eat two reg or one large sized chocolate bar(s) in a row when I was a kid, no problem, but now I definitely cannot eat more than one regular size or I get the sky high sugar rush, with the seemingly almost immediate sugar low swoop. I couldn't see where the amount of sugar is on the Rockstar can but since there are 473mls of liquid in it, you can pretty much bet there is a LOT in there. *High marks for taste!
